Birds & Tuxedos

Review by Mary Keener
Erik R. Trinidad is a Bootsnall member who has contributed a number of travel articles. This is his first published book - self published, handmade edition.

At the age of ten, Erik wrote a report on Antarctica and the penguins that live there.

Nobody lives in Antarctica. Nobody but penguins. Penguins look like birds in tuxedos. Maybe I can wear a tuxedo and play with them one day.

So this one day, years later, Erik Trinidad takes a two-week vacation with his tuxedo and camera, photographs himself in Antarctica wearing his penguin-like attire and writes this memorable, wish-come-true adventure.

His upbeat, tenacious, can-do attitude came through in a down-to-earth, write-as-he-speaks style of narration. Erik discovers Antaractica and himself through his research, his on-site experience and his interactions with the land and the people he meets along the way.
