The Curve of Time

Review by Mary Keener
Click here to buy this book Travel, definitely independently, discovery, adventure, inspiration, fear, creativity, awe of nature and its inhabitants will by yours as your read The Curve of Time.

This book was journeyed and written by a woman who, with her five children, sometimes with a dog, in a twenty-five foot long boat, during fifteen summers, explored the coastal waters of the Pacific Northwest.

Through Ms. Blanchet's voice, moods, curiosity, humility and knowledge, the reader accompanies her and her family as they encounter grizzly bears, meet mountain men, native Indians and experience fogs, tidal currents, and fish for toddler-size salmon. Much of the coastal rainforest they navigated is no longer there.

I cannot say it any better than Timothy Egan in his foreward. "Her voice, forty years after her death, is timeless. In the end, I did not want to get off the boat, or let her go."
