Why Study TEFL in Alexandria, Egypt

Alexandria is Egypt's second-largest city with 3.5 million people, and though it's a thoroughly modern city today it also boasts a long and rich history stretching back over the millennia. It was once known for its library - the largest in the ancient world - and as a great center for learning. Today, it Alexandria is Egypt's largest port (the city runs along about 20 miles of the Mediterranean coast) and an important industrial city.

This is the city of Alexander the Great, Cleopatra, Mark Anthony, and Napoleon. This is where the Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the wonders of the ancient world, once stood. This is where a new library has taken the place of the ancient one, destroyed in 400 AD. Alexandria is very much an historical city, but it's also vibrant and alive today. E.M. Forster once said that "the best way to see Alexandria is to wander aimlessly," so enjoy your explorations of this famous city!

Our Alexandria TEFL Program

Our TEFL course in Alexandria is located a few short blocks from the Mediterranean Sea, in the Stanley neighborhood. This area is most famous for the bridge and beach, both of which bear the same name as the neighborhood. The beach is especially popular with tourists, and getting around the city is cheap and efficient via public transportation.

We are 250km from Cairo, Egypt's capital, and Alexandria makes a great starting point for exploring more of the country and the region.
