I'm an ex-pat Canadian living in London working in broadcasting. Arrived in London when I ran out of money after travelling through Europe, and have been here for the last 18 months. Got sick of the Brits and have decided to leave.

Here's the itinerary:

  • October 2 - December 28th
Whirlwind tour of Asia. Fly into Bangkok, enter Cambodia by water, head north through the main part and exit back into Thailand. Head north in Thailand and enter Laos. Head north west through Laos and exit again into Thailand. Bum around northern Thailand before heading south west and hanging out along the coast. Try my luck in northern Indonesia before hightailing it through Malaysia and leaving via Singapore.

  • December 28, 2000 - December 28, 2001
Enter Australia through Sydney. Work for a few months. Buy a car and circle the continent counterclockwise meeting friends along the way (anyone care to join?)

  • December 28 2001 - ???
India and wherever else I care to go.

Of course, these plans are apt to change on whatever small whim I may feel at any point in time.

December 17: Thailand - Island Hopping

After visiting the Killing Fields and S-21, exploring Phnom Penh and waking up with a rat in her bed, Kat thinks that "Cambodia is an amazing place but it's lots of work."

November 13: Cambodia - Angkor Wat
Was it worth the hell Kat had to go through to see it? Well, in her own words, "it's truly spectacular".

November 11: Cambodia - The Road to Siem Reap
While some travelers' tales are prone to exaggeration, Kat swears its the honest truth as she recounts the 14 hour journey to cover 150 km.

October 31: Laos (Part 2) - Vang Vieng to Huay Xai
After travelling a treacherous road to Luang Prabang, Kat decides that a slow boat along the Mekong is a better way to return to Thailand.

October 30: Nong Khai to Laos (Part 1)
Kat recounts her last couple of weeks in Laos. She found the country to be beautiful, but the cost of cybercafes is astronomical.

    October 17: Khon Kaen
Kat has found the armpit of northern Thailand, so she's not wasting any time getting on a bus to Laos.

    October 12: Chiang Mai
Finding the north of Thailand calmer than the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, Kat is taking her time, seeing sights and watching her health.

October 5: Bangkok with a Bang!
