Big Round the World Trip

We want to do a short around the world trip, or possibly limit it to Asia/South America. We've traveled in Europe and south america a bit but really want to take this trip to the next level. We were thinking to shoot for around 7-10 days in each country so we may have to change where we visit and how many places we see. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated

G'day Mike,

It looks like a fantastic trip. With 7-10 days in each country, your time is reasonably tight, but if you wanted to think about adding some overland segments to your trip you could potentially do so (and add to your overall experience) in places like China and SE Asia, and Europe of course. Adding these segments also increases your flexibility a little since you've not locked into pre-booked dates for flights.

This site is a fantastic resource for train travel all over the world:

I see that you've been searching a number of different routes so you may not have found the exact combination of stops you want yet, but I wanted to point out a feature of Indie it doesn't look like you've seen yet.

Once Indie shows you a price for your route, click on the 'select' button that appears next to it. You can then edit each of your flights to smooth out long layovers, change airlines and even search +/- 3 days of your chosen date to see if there are cheaper days to fly.
