Whether you want to go skipping through Alpine meadows singing "The Hills Are Alive" or you want to imagine that a young Mozart walked the same streets you're walking now - or even if you just like charming Austrian towns - you'll want to book a Salzburg vacation rental.
There are two different types of Salzburg vacation rental listed here - some of them are apartments in buildings which are situated very close to the historic center of the town, and others are apartments in detached private houses along the river (also not far from the central area). In either case, you're actually quite close to the Salzburg city center so you'll be able to enjoy all the sights and attractions of this pretty town any time you want to. And, especially if you choose one of the apartments along the river, you'll also be able to have a little garden space in back of the building when you want to get away from the bustle.
Depending on which vacation rental in Salzburg you choose, you'll be able to take advantage of certain amenities. Some have access to a shared garden space, and all of them have facilities within easy walking distance - including indoor swimming pools, tennis courts, grocery stores, and playgrounds for the kids. Plus, you'll have central Salzburg's many markets and restaurants close at hand, too. Most of them will be either a 15-25 minute walk from your vacation apartment or a drive of only a few minutes. The city's bus system is also good, so you don't even need to rent a car if you don't want to.
Of course, if you'd like to use your vacation rental in Salzburg as a home base for exploring the region beyond the city limits, you may decide that you'll want to rent a car. You can also get around quite nicely via Europe's train network as well. Some of the nearby sights and attractions include the ice caves and salt mines near Salzburg and also several destinations in Germany's Bavaria. The city of Munich is not far away by train, and King Ludwig's famous Neuschwanstein is also a popular sight.
