The Dinant vacation rentals are apartments which have been created out of larger houses, mainly just outside the city itself. You won't be far from the city center, and you'll be close to public transportation so you'll be able to get back and forth easily when you want to. Plus, there are shops which are within walking distance if you don't feel like going all the way into town. By being just outside of the town you'll be able to relax in a bit more peace and quiet than if you were right in the center - but you'll be close enough to all the action to keep yourself entertained, too.
Dinant is in Belgium's French-speaking southern half, and while it's not overflowing with tourist attractions it's a good home base and certainly worth visiting. From your vacation rental in Dinant you'll be able to tour the beautiful "La Merveilleuse" cave (one of the prettiest in the country), full of stalactites and stalagmites, and the incredible and imposing citadel perched atop the hills overlooking the city. The views from the top are great, and there's even a cable-car to and from the hilltop so you don't have to hike it if you don't want to.
Another thing you'll probably want to visit is the Church of Notre-Dame - it's hard to miss from its vantage point overlooking the river, and you'll get great photographs of it from the citadel above. Of course, if you're in the mood to use your vacation rental in Dinant as a base from which to explore the region outside the city limits, that's always a great option, too. The southern French part of Belgium is beautiful and rich in history, but somewhat less visited than the northern Flemish part - so it's ripe for the picking.
