    Ontario, Canada

  7. Occupation
    Tele-comm Technician

  8. Is this job one that you actually like, or
are you only doing it to pay for the trip?

I’ll come back if they’ll have me

  9. Have you traveled around the world
    before?

    No

  10. What is the route you plan to take/places
    you plan to visit?

Canada – ALL of Europe – incld Malta and Cypruss – Egypt – Kenya – Tibet
    – Nepal – Bangkok – Laos – Singapore – Australia – New Zealand – Fiji –
Tahiti – Bora Bora – Canada

  11. Why did you decide to take this trip? What
got you into this type of travel, and/or influenced you to go?

I have always wanted to see what the rest of the world has to offer and I
am at a point in my life where I can afford to go and have nothing
holding me back (no kids, no partner) The influence is simply the
mystery of where fate will take you once you step off that plane!!!

  12. What is your biggest fear about this
    trip?

I will be going solo. I have lived on my own and done some small travel
on my own, but never anything quite like this.

  13. Are your family, friends, co-workers, etc.,
supportive of you? What is their opinion of your going around the
    world?

They are mostly excited. They worry about the solo travel also. But
they understand that I need to do this for myself and now is the perfect time.

  14. How much planning and preparing have you
    done?

    Just Enough

  15. What are you packing? What do you consider
    your most indispensable item(s)?

Comfortable footwear, versatile – lightweight clothing. A safe-pac for
my backpack, and a good hat.

  16. How do you think your round-the-world trip
will change your life? How do you think it will affect and change you as
    a person?

I want to be able to settle into my life and know that I have seen more
than just my home town. I feel the draw because I think there may be
better life out there and this way my question will be answered. Who
knows, I may end up settling in “a better place” for me.

  17. If you had to sum up your thoughts/feelings
about your round-the-world trip in one sentence, what would it
    be?

    Opportunity of a lifetime.

  18. Why do you think people should go on
round-the-world trips? Why not just take a regular old one- or two-week
    vacation instead?

You don’t get to submerse yourself into a new culture in one or two
weeks. You need more time to adapt and feel comfortable. I think RTW
travel is a great way to get to know the real you inside oneself.

  19. What is the biggest myth that people have
    about round-the-world traveling?

That it can only be done by those who have lots of money and time…not
true! A car costs far more than a RTW trip and people don’t usually
    think twice about that.

  20. Why do you like to travel?
To see different cultures, meet new people and learn more about myself.

  21. What is your advice for people planning
    their own RTW trip?

Plan only as much as you need. A moment to moment itinery will only go
to the trash bin and make you feel stressed. Go with the flow and see
where life takes you all on it’s own. You will enjoy it so much more.
