    One more paycheck and I’m gone

    No

  10. What is the route you plan to take/places you plan to visit?
    australia and new zealand is my main focus but i figured hell, why not SE Asia, scandanavia, and ireland as well?

  11. Why did you decide to take this trip? What got you into this type of travel, and/or influenced you to go?
    i love freckled redheads and AU n NZ have em (sap looking for love). i have the money now and i’m not getting any younger or healthier. i wanna see the rest of the planet i happen to live on and whom i’m sharing it with. ive lived in prague and nyc and seen bits of western europe.

  12. What is your biggest fear about this trip?
    dining alone in kitschy restaurants along highways. going from one town to the next with no contact with local people and towns starting to look the same. no adventure no romance no surprises. eeyore type stuff.

  13. Are your family, friends, co-workers, etc., supportive of you? What is their opinion of your going around the world?
    they’d hate me if they knew i could afford to do it. supportive? i guess.my family’d rather see me in a Gulag.

  14. How much planning and preparing have you done?
    Winged it a lot

  15. What are you packing? What do you consider your most indispensable item(s)?
    my only task/responsibility is simply to keep a journal as i’ve done every day for the last few years and i think my tiny laptop would be indispensible for this. it ain’t worth much $. i travel light.

  16. How do you think your round-the-world trip will change your life? How do you think it will affect and change you as a person?
    either i’ll be surprised by new things i’d never imagined to kindle my hopes for happiness or i’ll at least have checked out another few possible lives. hopefully i’ll make some friends. foster a belief in myself beyond what money can buy and a mother’s love.

  17. If you had to sum up your thoughts/feelings about your round-the-world trip in one sentence, what would it be?
    this could be some adventure.

  18. Why do you think people should go on round-the-world trips? Why not just take a regular old one- or two-week vacation instead?
    i’ll tell you when i get back (if i have to come back).

  19. What is the biggest myth that people have about round-the-world traveling?
    “the rest of the world owes us americans for how great we are.”

  20. Why do you like to travel?
    i love foreign immersion. if only i spoke 20 languages.

  21. What is your advice for people planning their own RTW trip?
    try canada first.
