Virginia Travel Guide
When people think of Virginia, a few things come to mind: tobacco, the start of the South, the Civil War and more history than you could ever possibly fit in a short vacation. However, some of the other attractions aren't to be forgotten or overlooked.
Virginia also lays claim to a burgeoning wine industry, and the unfortunate tourism slogan of Virginia is for Lovers. With the extensive array of spas, B&Bs and activities that focus on relaxing, it's hard not to admit they might be right.
Off-beat attractions include the world's largest musical instrument, a museum devoted to the psychic who predicted Kennedy's assassination and the Drug Enforcement Administration Museum.
Outdoor lovers should make sure to take in the Allegheny and Blue Ridge mountains, or a retreat to the Shenandoah Valley. For those that have history driving their trips, Arlington National Cemetery, Fredericksburg National Battlefield Parks and Williamsburg are appropriate sites, as are the birthplaces of a number of presidents.
