In Their Words

Here's what Alex Melvin shared about their RTW journey:

What is your advice for people planning their own RTW trip?

Just plan ahead to a certain degree, but don’t go over the top. Leave room in your planning for extended stays and have loads of fun.

Why do you think people should go on round-the-world trips?

RTW trips take away the adventurous edge of someone… for a few months anyway. And also provide many once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

Why did you decide to take this trip?

I need to get away from dreary England. I’m going to visit a friend I havn’t seen in 14 years. And the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens.

How do you think your round-the-world trip will change your life?

I’ve grown up in a pretty privileged position and this will help me to see the less fortunate than me.

Why do you like to travel?

Get to see the world. I have lots of friends over the world. And it gives me an excuse to visit them.
