England

  • Is this job one that you actually like, or are you only doing it to pay for the trip?

It's my career

  • Have you traveled around the world before?

Yes

  • What is the route you plan to take/places you plan to visit?

New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Hong Kong, America, Holland and Portugal.

  • Why did you decide to take this trip? What got you into this type of travel, and/or influenced you to go?

I need to get away from dreary England. I'm going to visit a friend I havn't seen in 14 years. And the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens.

  • What is your biggest fear about this trip?

Not being able to afford it.

  • Are your family, friends, co-workers, etc., supportive of you? What is their opinion of your going around the world?

Yeah. I've only ever travelled with my parents so I need to get away from them.

  • How much planning and preparing have you done?

Just Enough

  • What are you packing? What do you consider your most indispensable item(s)?

Spectacles, Testicles, Wallet and Watch!

  • How do you think your round-the-world trip will change your life? How do you think it will affect and change you as a person?

I've grown up in a pretty privileged position and this will help me to see the less fortunate than me.

  • If you had to sum up your thoughts/feelings about your round-the-world trip in one sentence, what would it be?

I can't wait!

  • Why do you think people should go on round-the-world trips? Why not just take a regular old one- or two-week vacation instead?

RTW trips take away the adventurous edge of someone... for a few months anyway. And also provide many once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

  • What is the biggest myth that people have about round-the-world traveling?

That it's really expensive. And rushed.

  • Why do you like to travel?

Get to see the world. I have lots of friends over the world. And it gives me an excuse to visit them.

  • What is your advice for people planning their own RTW trip?

Just plan ahead to a certain degree, but don't go over the top. Leave room in your planning for extended stays and have loads of fun.
