Nicholas Jones – Around-the-World Traveler

legacy

Nicholas Jones – Around-the-World Traveler is a pre trip from California, USA. Currently working as a Student, this 21-year-old from USA is preparing for one of life's greatest journeys: traveling around the world.

About the Journey

I have always loved Latin America. In 2001 I spent 6 months studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I had an extraordinary time, but I regretted the fact that my obligations as a student kept me stationary in one place. I longed to get out and explore. So now, that’s just what I’m gonna do.

Advice for other travelers: Let your soul ascend to the surface and let it guide your trip.

Packing essentials: I’m packing a LOT of stuff, you don’t want to hear the whole list right now. However, some items that I think are going to be important are: water purifier, tent/camping stuff, books, car supplies (extra gas, spare tire, etc.).

Common misconception: I don’t know.

2026 Context

Budget inflation: The USD 3,000 from 2003 now requires approximately USD 5400 in 2026, a 80% increase reflecting global economic changes and rising travel costs.

This pre trip profile captures round-the-world aspirations from the early 2000s. Modern travelers following similar routes should verify current visa requirements, safety conditions, and infrastructure in each destination.
